Project Quest

We are so proud of our Laney Bug. The school sent out a letter in Kindergarden asking if you want to test your child for the gifted and talented program. Landon and I talked about it and didn't really see a reason why we wouldn't, so we signed the paper and sent it back to school. We didn't make a big deal at all about the program or the testing. They tested Laney over several months. Most of the time we didn't even know she had a test that day unless her teacher mentioned it. We know she is a smart little girl and has an insane memory but really wasn't quite sure what the results would be. We went out of town and came back to a letter stating that she was accepted in to Project Think and Project Quest. They take the top percentage for all MISD for these programs. We were stoked!!!! She loves school, takes every oppurtunity to learn and soak up all that she can. She is now pulled from class every Tuesday and Thursday to meet with her Project Think and Project Quest teacher to dig in deeper. There is 5 kindergarten students at her school that are in Project Think and she is the only kindergardener in Quest. She will automatically be accepted into Carver in the second grade and we couldn't be more pleased! It's a wonderful school with awesome teachers.

We do not give all of this credit to ourselves by the way. She had an amazing preschool teacher, Mrs. Mary, who helped her tremendously. We are so blessed that Laney got the time she did at Training Wheels.

And most of all we thank God for Laney and the brains he blessed her with.

We obviously would love her all the same if she wouldn't have gotten into the gifted and talented and we stressed that to her over and over!
