Project Quest

We are so proud of our Laney Bug. The school sent out a letter in Kindergarden asking if you want to test your child for the gifted and talented program. Landon and I talked about it and didn't really see a reason why we wouldn't, so we signed the paper and sent it back to school. We didn't make a big deal at all about the program or the testing. They tested Laney over several months. Most of the time we didn't even know she had a test that day unless her teacher mentioned it. We know she is a smart little girl and has an insane memory but really wasn't quite sure what the results would be. We went out of town and came back to a letter stating that she was accepted in to Project Think and Project Quest. They take the top percentage for all MISD for these programs. We were stoked!!!! She loves school, takes every oppurtunity to learn and soak up all that she can. She is now pulled from class every Tuesday and Thursday to meet with her Project Think and Project Quest teacher to dig in deeper. There is 5 kindergarten students at her school that are in Project Think and she is the only kindergardener in Quest. She will automatically be accepted into Carver in the second grade and we couldn't be more pleased! It's a wonderful school with awesome teachers.

We do not give all of this credit to ourselves by the way. She had an amazing preschool teacher, Mrs. Mary, who helped her tremendously. We are so blessed that Laney got the time she did at Training Wheels.

And most of all we thank God for Laney and the brains he blessed her with.

We obviously would love her all the same if she wouldn't have gotten into the gifted and talented and we stressed that to her over and over!

Vegas 2014!!

Landon and I headed to Vegas a few weekends ago to celebrate our sister in law, Jodi's 30th birthday. This was a first time trip to Vegas for Landon and I think he is ready for the next trip already..lol. We had a blast needless to say! Time away without the kids, good company, great food, shopping, winning {and losing} money.
On the airplane headed out :)
We headed down on a Wednesday morning. We arrived super early in the morning, so that gave us all day to shop, eat and look around. That evening us girls went and saw Brittney in concert. That was so much fun! I was worried about the time change because her concert was at 9 Las Vegas time, so that means 11 our time. But she was so entertaining that I never once felt tired. (I am usually in bed by 9 or 10, so I did good. ha)
The Aria, where we stayed. It's gorgeous!
Thursday was more shopping, winning and losing money, dinner at the Olives at the Belagio to celebrate the birthday girl.

Happy 30th Jodi!

My love!
Landon and I, Tanner and Jodi, Rhonda (Jodi's mom), and Ben and Jenna!
Friday, it was time to wind down with some amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing massages! I wanna go back to spend all day at the Aria spa. It was so nice and what a perfect way to end the trip.

Saturday, we headed home to see our babies. I was informed when we picked them up that is both of thier dreams to fly on an airplane.. lol. Looks like we will have to make that happen some time :)
