Ryko- Our elf!

Ryko has returned this year!! He has done a few naughty and messy things this year but he has also left us a few reminders.

Ryko was playing tic tac toe on the marshmallows and Laney thought he was being ugly, so she decided she needed to write a letter to Santa. Ha!

Both kids wrote letters to Santa. The first Santa we saw Laney asked him for a barbie. Then when she saw Santa at school and wrote out a list of the goodies she wanted she decided to add iPad, doggie, Tech picture frame, flower pot, flowers (a girl after my own heart on this one.. lol) and a few other random things. Kipton asked Santa for a motorcycle (small one he said), turtle and baby. Ha! These kids crack me up. Well Ryco had to remind them that when and if they don't get these things what the one and only true present is ;)

Ryko eating ALL the gumballs.

The excitement of the kids asking where Ryko is every morning and searching for him is fun. But then again we don't want to put too much focus on the elf and Santa. Laney is very curious this year and asking great questions... Does Ryko know Jesus? and I thought only Jesus knows what we are doing and thinking but now Santa can too? This is a great time of year to bring her focus to Jesus :) And wow what a great reminder to her mommy, daddy and brother too! Don't get me wrong.. we are still incorporating the fun traditions of this season but are trying our hardest to divide a line in between them, if that makes any sense :) Jesus and Santa!

Tis the season!!

What a wonderful time of year!! We have kept ourselves busy busy and here is a little recap.

We started the month off with freezing ice and sleet. The kids were out of school, therefore I was not at work. We decided to take advantage and take the kids to see Frozen in 3D. We loved it, such a cute cute movie.

Last minute Christmas shopping made this guy wore out! Lol!

Goodies for Christmas parties :) White trash.. yummy stuff!

We have been going over the different names of Jesus this season with the kids. It has been so awesome to see Laney remember the names of Jesus and tell us what each name means. We are really putting tons of emphasis on the true meaning of Christmas!! Here are a few words we have done, after we read verses and talk about the name we make an ornament.

Laney made a baby Jesus in swaddling close under the star of David at church last Sunday and she has slept with baby Jesus and absolutely loves it. This was the most precious craft ever! So thankful for awesome teachers at Stonegate. She has learned so much and memorizes a verse every Sunday. I pray that she keeps those verses close to her heart forever!

Parties, Parties and more Parties!!

Pajama Day for both kids :)

Laney's school party. She wanted to take a pic with a few girls she shares her table with :)

Kipton's school party and book exchange.

And last but not least, Landon's work Christmas party. My mom and dad kept the kids for us and they spent the night with them. I love the nights where Landon and I can just take our time with friends and not have to rush to put kids to bed! We had an awesome time and love our time togehter with no kids :)

Love this season and pray that each one of us remember the true reason for the season... JESUS!

Sesame Street Live

We took the kids to see Elmo and friends a few weekends ago in Odessa. Luckily it wasn't super busy so the kids danced themselves tired. We were excited that Tanner, Jodi and the kids were able to join us.  The kids had a blast!

Love special memories like these!
